Quadro Engineering Hosts Waterloo Plant Tour For The GCBPA
Eddie & Ursula Koch hosted our members on a tour of their modern and
spacious World Headquarters Manufacturing Facility, located in Waterloo
on the evening of September 11, 2001. We arrived en masse along with our
respective partners and were immediately split into several groups to
begin our Plant tour, thereby enabling each of us to experience the
capabilities of Quadros complete range of processing equipment whilst
at the same time, obtaining a detailed description of what we were
seeing.
Quadro Engineering World Headquarters (Waterloo)
Quadro engineers and manufactures processing equipment designed to fulfil
specific, individual customer requirements. We viewed their
ground-breaking invention, the Quadro Comil, a stainless steel conical
screen mill engineered to generate product of surprising size consistency
during either wet or dry processing. We also witnessed the high speed,
low energy dispersion process achieved via means of Quadro's Ytron
technology.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff patiently explained the unique features of
their full-range of processing equipment which were described as the
universal standards for dry milling and mixing, size reduction, dispersion
and wet-mass delumping. Quadro Product Specialists explained that their
drive to quality-engineer, manufacture, and service equipment to
consistently high standards enabled them to maintain their status as
leaders in process equipment innovation.
Quadro's processing equipment is adopted wherever either uniformity in
product sizing or consistent mixing capability is required, as in the
Food/Pharmaceutical/Personal Care and Cosmetic Industries. A display
highlighting a cross-section of everyday product applications clearly
demonstrated that each and every one of us has benefited from Quadro's
processing technology.
Quadro's Manufacturing Facility incorporates drawing-driven robotic
equipment reminiscent of auto manufacturing facilities. The most amazing
aspect of this process is that the machine takes the data from the
drawings and directly translates the information into high-speed,
precision component manufacturing.
We also learned that Quadro serves customers in more than fifty (50)
countries and is supported by a worldwide network of representatives,
distributors, OEMs and partners.
Hospitality Centre - Hors d'Ouevres to come
The Quadro Team is obviously extremely proud of their work and enjoyed
giving this tour as much as we did receiving it. They milled and mixed
with us, while we happily indulged in the seemingly unlimited availability
of expertly prepared food/beverages.
Hospitality Organizers Helen Desmeules (Quadro) and Wesley
Moore (Country Kettle Classics)
We sincerely thank Eddie & Ursula Koch, Susan Adams, and Keith McIntosh
for the warm welcome and also, the very informative tour. We would
request that they please convey our appreciation to their enthusiastic
staff members, particularly Helen Desmeules, who contributed to the
evening's enjoyment, as well as to their caterer - Country Kettle
Classics, owned and operated by Wesley Moore.
